Our Vows

I was going to type in our vows but as I was looking at our copies, I just had to scan them in, there are some really adorable and revealing details that I just can't type. So here they are in all their glory, scribbled, stained with what I can only call party juice, folded in twenty-thirds, wrung out, and magical.

The word "marriage" is emphasized because he actually said it like The Princess Bride priest...everyone laughed even if they didn't know what they were laughing at. He committed to it and it definitely payed off.

Look at these notes I found on the other side of the paper...
nose?! he said he was trying to find ways to subtly embarrass me ...lol, good luck.

I had written mine at work, copied them to my iphone and decided last minute, as my hair was being done to write them onto some of Elle's note cards because the girls suggested I might not want to read them from the phone in case it rang...that's what girls are for, right?
You know I had to quote the JB...

if you're paying attention, (you're already doing better than I was) you'll notice I copied the same line twice above. Jason noticed me pausing to correct it and mentioned it later...did anyone else?

I did it again here but caught myself and crossed it out.
"maybe go camping with you" was a small hit

And to think he was nervous...

Listen...

We received so many compliments on the music at our wedding ceremony so I thought I'd share with you the playlist. A couple of weeks before the wedding, we started pulling random wedding movie quotes from the back of our heads. Without a doubt, the one that meant the most to us was this scene:

Therefore, the wedding playlist is entitled:

Prelude/Seating Music:
Live Acoustic Guitar by Derek Eidson
Honored Guests & Bridal Party Entrance:
On The Sunny Side Of The Street by Louis Armstrong
Bridal Entrance:
La Vie En Rose by Louis Armstrong
Recessional:
Bugle Call Rag by Louis Armstrong
Bride & Groom Grand (Re)Entrance:
Stand Up & Get Crunk by The Yin Yang Twins
Bride & Groom First Dance:
That's How Strong My Love Is by Otis Redding
Father Daughter Dance:
Georgia On My Mind by Louis Armstrong
Mother Son Dance:
Home by Michael Buble
Cutting of the Cake:
Twilight by The Squirrel Nut Zippers
Garter & Bouquet Toss:
Basin Street Blues by Doctor John
Other Special Songs We Requested:
Great Big Family by Truckstop Honeymoon
Stand by Me by Ben E. King
Moondance by Van Morrison
My Girl by The Temptations

Our DJ did a great job. It was like my guests didn't even need to wait for the electric slide song to play. They just broke out in line dances immediately and continued to do them all night long, no matter what song was playing. So even if I had told the DJ no line dances, (which I would never do) I would have been out of luck.
I love my guests...

Book of Candles

Wanted to briefly share with you one of our favorite gifts from our showers. This is Jeanne's book of candles.

Isn't it special? We totally heart it.
 The poem reads:

"A box of candles for Jason & Greta

A box of candles that come in a pair
In all different colors for you two to share
The white ones burn first
They are wrapped in white lace
To celebrate your first married night
In your new chosen place
The green pair is taller, and also much thinner
Burn with the first company you have over for dinner
The dark blue candles are for after your first fight
Use them to burn while making up all night
Pink candles set the mood and pave the way
For your first married Valentine's Day
Now when your first year of marriage is through
The cream anniversary pair will light for you two
Red candles aflame, both your futures are bright
Celebrate promotions you've worked toward with all of your might
By this time we hope, maybe just maybe
You can light the purple ones, on the birth of your baby
And just when you thought, you'd put these away
Take the light blue ones out for your fifth anniversary day
Now just one more pair left, for the big two five
The anniversary pair that will keep your love alive
Congratulations Jason and Greta
On the start of your forever
May the two of you always be happy together
And burn these candles
Just the way we said
But please don't forget-blow them out before bed!"

cute, huh? This would be a great DIY wedding present. I'm sure I will steal at least some of this. Thanks to Jeanne for her amazing creativity, love and support. We love you!

I love Boxes

I really do.
I love to assemble them and decorate them. I even love to un-assemble them, cover them with pretty things and put them back together. I also love the internet. With it's help, I made these.

The handkerchiefs are all hand cut, hemmed, embroidered and ironed, by who else, me.

This template I found online, printed out onto card stock covered with pretty paper and cut and folded into the pretty little boxes you saw above. It was really quite fun.

These pretty flower boxes are for my bridesmaids and flower girl. I didn't make the boxes, I decorated them and made what's inside. What's inside?!

I made these too. These are for the grandparents. But not what's inside.

These are all rehearsal dinner gifts so don't feel bad if there isn't one for you.
It's ok to be jealous though.

Link Love Overload / Purging the Bookmarks

Nearing the end of the planning process (only 30 some days left now!) I wanted to purge my bookmarks and unload some of these fantastic wedding links here. In case I ever wanted to look at them again or in case you get some use out of them. The design community online is amazing. If you spend the time and effort you can really find some fantastic things.

I considered giving mismatching yet coordinated necklaces from various Etsy sellers to the bridesmaids.
